Hi Gridiron,
I do agree with you that the Federal government should not be bailing out private companies.
Banks for example, could consider loans based on a company's credit worthiness.
And, I do not believe that we should be throwing tax-payers' money at companies.
So, I do agree with you on most of the opinions that you have expressed.
Further, I believe that the Alberta Government should not impliment the new royalties. The Alberta Government has already hurt the oil and gas industry in Alberta by proposing to impliment the royalties. Companies have chosen to cancel billions of dollars in oil related projects in Alberta because of the uncertain political climate here.
I have done my best to pass this on to both the Premier and the Finance Minister.
Alberta would be better off if our Province actually reduced existing royalties. Oil and gas companies would then have more dollars available to replace reserves and to invest in getting the oil and gas out of the ground.
I do hope you continue to post on this site. We need people with good opinions and by sharing ideas, we are all better off.
For your information, my home town was Galt (now Cambridge, Ontario), and, I played hockey for McMaster University and also Senior A hockey for Welland many years ago.
I hope that everyone on this Board has a very Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year.
Best Wishes,
Lynn
