IMO your description is very accurate and eloquent.

If I could extend it, I would say it that this apply to any government (left or right) and anywhere through out the history of civilization. This is the nature of this BEAST.

At the end of the day, do the politicans care. Likely not. They know ultimately other companies will absorb any failed companys and their royalties will go on. So, where is the motivation to take any action? Politics is frequently dirty and lacks nobility. At times, it even lacks decency and fair play. Politicans are the representatives of their "blood sucking" governments and not benificent masters of the public will!"
