It is a widely accepted marketing priciple that at any time one restricts the breadth of their market, as Canada is doing with the US with respect to the oilsands production, one establishes a significant vulnerability which is likely to come back and bite one in a portion of your body you will not like. By not following this marketing principle the oilsands and Canada trade policy, is following a near sighted foolish policy. Always, always diversify your markets.

This is particularly true as the current Obama administration in the US is obviously and candidly hostile to anything that smells like petroleum. A policy which Obama and the US will pay dearly for if they do not wake up. As a US citizen, this reality does not cheer me. As the old saying goes, "stupid is as stupid does"!
