One of those entities has a vested interest in having you believe the best possible things so that you buy shares or at a minimum, don't sell. Those conference calls and reports are put together by people with large amounts of shares or other monetary consideration. The other, theoretically at least, has no interest except making money for its clients the best it can.
I am not trying to imply that CLL management is lying or doing anything illegal but if they came out with the same news that Scotia did where would the stock price be today?
Both are potentially correct, it depends on what each individual investor thinks is going to happen to oil prices and if they think this is where they can get the best earning potential for their dollars or if there are other, better risks out there.
