Pardon my speculation but as a potential, a merger of of Nexen/Opti/CLL? They are all in the same area with adjoining properties and would ultimately make for a potent force in the sands.

With Connachers recently filed application for expansion of GD/ALGAR and phase 1 of Opti, total production would be approximately 110.000 BPD.

Additonally, Nexen/ Opti already has their initial upgrader of 2 planned up and operational. And a second SAGD production of another 55,000/BPD on the boards.

A combination of these three participants would be a prodigous potent presence in the oil sands.
