You are forgetting that buying Luke Energy for a guaranteed natural gas supply cost more than $204,658,000 million dollars. You also didn't include buying the MRC Refinery which cost Connacher $66,333,000 according to the figures in the 2006 Annual Report http://www.connacheroil.com/document... I must assume that these sums are in US dollars so figuring in the exchange rate into Canadian dollars would obviously inflate these numbers.

In addition, tens of millions of dollars have been spent on upgrading the refinery, for example adding the equipment to produce low sulphur diesel and blend ethanol as well as setting up an employee pension fund and making the huge storage tank for the asphalt. Millions have also been spent on buying back debt in 2008, millions lost on currency fluctuations last year between the Canadian and US dollars, new office accommodation etc.

Also, a tremendous amount of money is paid out at the end of June and December to service the debt. Is it $60 million dollars interst per payment? I'm not exactly sure.
