As for alternative forms of energy, no problem. Before alternative energy becomes widely enough developed and available to meet the required need, there will be enough time pass for the Oil Sands to have a good long run. My guess at minimum 20 to 30 years. In the meantime, we are going to need all of the petroleum we can get to keep in fuel a growing population which will be driving. Just look at all the people in Asia, India, S. America and Africa which will be gaining in affluence and wanting transportation as they become more prosperous. Their number dwarfs those of us in North America and Europe!
