In a very simple sense, I believe that having many of CLL's operational factors set up to benefit from a weaker US dollar is smart. In the medium to long term, the Canadian dollar should become much stronger relative to the USD. In very oversimplified terms, ignoring the US debt issues and relative economic strengths on the world stages versus other currencies, the future advantage of the CAD over USD can be explained as, "We've got the oil & they don't."
