I said he had a technical background, I didn't say he had a technical degree! He's been involved in the Oil and Gas industry at least since 1979 in positions of authority. In that length of time he probably was forced to acquire at least the equivalent of a technical degree, probably much more, just to make effective decisions!

40,000 feet is a reference to looking at Connacher from a holistic perspective, not just to what it is today, but what it can become. It has nothing to do with vertical perspective of looking down on the physical plant site!
