The major issue is not fraud. The real issue is that there are still massive quantities of derivative securities floating around out there. In excess of 100 trillion $ of derivative securities are still in limbo out there. That is more than the worlds gross domestic product for one year by a large margin. Can you guess who the largest writer of derivative contracts was? Whoops, Goldman!! Warren Buffet called derivatives "Weapons of mass financial destruction." The world still sits on the financial equivalent of all of the nuclear weapons it ever produduced!!
