Message: Question about underground pumps

Perhaps 2Crude or another technical expert on this board can answer my question. Can two high temperature ESP's be put into each underground well pair in order to increase the volume of bitumen being produced out of each well pair or does this create a problem where by Connacher wouldn't have the handling capacity to process the increased volumes of water and bitumen? I am posing this question because Michael Decter was on BNN today talking about Ithaca Energy which is putting 2 pumps in each of its new wells in the North Sea. He said this allows them to produce double the oil out put from each well, in addition to providing reliability, because if one pump fails you can continue to produce the well with the second pump instead of shutting down production on the well completely to remove a faulty pump and replace it with a new one. Is this technically possible in Connacher's SAGD operation? If it is possible, would the cost of 2 high temp ESP's per well cost too much to make this worth while?

Cheers; Scott
