I find this interesting. I've been buying and selling Gran Tierra (GTE) for the past 5 years and recently bought the stock again. They have been very sucessful in the Putomayo Basin in Columbia.

The execs all have extensive oil backgrounds. Off the top of my head I know the CEO, Dana Coffield, came from Encana.

I think the deal will create value for CLL. GTE has $150mil in cash and will probably continue their aggressive drilling program.
