I found a good video of the slate islands. Not only does it have some amazing fishing but it has the highest density of woodland caribou in North America. I think they originally swan from the main land, it's not terribly far, 5-10 miles I think. Being isolated there are no predators and as a result they are ridiculously tame. Eat right out of your hand. They also steal ungaurded vegies! As you will see they usually visit your campsite two or three times a day.
