Here is the thing Nick, SP will go up when netbacks go up. Also typically we see up or down movements before planned quarterly releases. My take is that people do get to see these and adjust their holdings accordingly, even though they are not supposed to. What the drop tells me, more then the commodity sell off or the Index sell off, is that they are not producing any more,( more likely less) then they were from the last NR. Also operational costs are probably not down, most likely up, probably pump replacements which they like to say will increase production but haven't done much. Also with higher crude costs, margins at the MRC will take a hit. The only positive is the US/CDN dollar which lowers the debt on the balance sheet in a bit of smoke and mirrors non-cash way.
Management won't buy shares because they can't solve the production problem. DG and management team are weak and unfortunately so is the SP.
