Though I do not believe that commodities realisically, including oil, can only be a one way train in an upward direction, I also regarding the entierety if the commodity complex, without some external encouragement, are likely to literally collapse as they did today. So my question is, does Ben Bernanke Have a PET ( Plunge Encouragement Team to go with his PPT (Plunge Protection Team"? Hard commodities in Asia, except for silver, are all up as of now. Is The Bernank done for this round? We will know in about 10 and a half hours. But, one thing I am sure of. Commodities have a long future of upward mobility with occasional selloffs. But long term, in the environment of monetary debauchery we are in, in concert with the build out of the developing world, over time commodities are going up. The Bernank wins a violent battle today. But, just as surely he loses the longer term war. I know that. So does Ben Bernanke. With the sell off today he simply monetized some of his defecits!
