Petrolifera Petroleum provides update on drilling progress at La Pinta well in Colombia
CALGARY, Feb. 17 /CNW/ - Petrolifera Petroleum Limited (PDP - TSX)
announces today that it is making good progress in the drilling of its La
Pinta well on the Sierra Nevada I license in the Lower Magdalena Valley
onshore Colombia. The well is located 600 meters north of the Guamito 1X well
that was drilled in 1975 and tested oil and gas from two separated intervals.
The well spudded on January 23, 2009 and is currently drilling a 12 1/4
inch intermediate hole at a depth of 6,720 feet. The next casing point will be
at 8,700 feet where the 9 5/8ths string will be run. The projected final total
depth on the well is approximately 13,000 feet.
The well has not encountered any unusual problems during drilling and mud
weights remain high with density at about 13.0 ppg due to prevailing high
pressure conditions in the subsurface.
