It's worth reading Teck's Quarterly and comparing it to our expected output.
Highland Valley Copper's third quarter gross profit of $142 million, before depreciation and amortization, compared with $103 million in the same period a year ago. Significantly higher copper prices in the quarter were partly offset by higher operating costs and the effect of the stronger Canadian dollar.
Copper production of 22,800 tonnes was 5% lower than the same period last year primarily as a result of lower ore grades. Molybdenum production of 2.0 million pounds was similar to the corresponding period last year. Higher cost of sales in the quarter was primarily due to sales volumes exceeding production by 18% in the quarter and to increased waste stripping.
