In line for being the new Greek Prime Minister, at least temporarily, is Lucas Papademos:

Papademos was educated in the United States, where he earned his first degree in physics at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT). He holds a second degree in electrical engineering and a doctorate in economics, and held academic posts at Columbia University, Harvard University and the University of Athens.

A specialist in macroeconomic theory and policy, he still teaches as a visiting professor in the US.

This should sort out fears surrounding Greece going forward.

Italy is trying hard to get Berlusconi to resign so it will probably be another week for him before Italy argues itself into a position of dire need. Their bond levels are approaching 7% and anything over 6% will cause recession. It is very good to see all the problems coming to a head and getting sorted out.

Both Italy and Greece have a nearly 27% untaxed underground economy. Time to make some changes.
