Skibum2, I love this idea as well. In fact if we get through this in good time I think I will donate some of my profits towards the charity that is pushing for this. It alleviates any guilt I might feel for mining in such a pristine part of the province/country/world and suggests a solution for industry to work with environmental groups that is sensible and in the end everyone wins. Industry gets to mine, more profits are made by having a local smelter with offshoot industries, jobs are made locally, taxes are paid locally, the ocean is a little bit quieter and cleaner without so much shipping. . . I can't think what else.

Canada needs to improve their image on the environment and also stop just exporting raw materials. We need to evolve.
