At the time Teck made this agreement SC was considered a low grade deposit and uneconomical. Alot of work had to be done on the property to upgrade the deposit and determine whether it was economically viable. What better way to do this than to farm out the work, risk and exploration dollars to a junior. Of course, for a junior to take on this project, terms had to be agreeable and acceptable to it as well. Hence, this agreement was drawn up by Teck for the mutual benefit of both but more so for the benefit of the junior as a carrot to perform the work and risks its own money in the process. If Teck had suspected such high grade areas to be found near surface I doubt very much they would have done the deal on these terms. CUU came in at the right time to get this deal from Teck IMHO and it will be paying off in spades in the very near future :)
