The same principle would apply in Canada. But that does not necessarily mean that CUU management has to provide "other interested parties with the same info". Management can evaluate Teck's offer by itself to determine whether or not it is a fair offer to the shareholders and make the appropriate recommendations. To accept the offer they would still need to have the majority of shareholders to agree and tender their shares. Of course, if management feels they can get a better offer from another party they can open up the info on a confidential basis to other parties; but I don't think it is a requirement. JMO GLTA!
