The proposed Pebble Mine in Alaska is another example of how environmental issues can potentially be a killer.
The estimated total resource at that site is staggering:
- 80.6 billion lbs. of copper
- 5.6 billion lbs. of molybdenum
- 107.4 million oz. of gold
The average copper grade is 0.34%.
At current prices, the area's metals are worth up to $500 billion.
More details from Northern Dynasty Minerals' website, as that company is a partner:

But the project is located at the headwaters of some prime fish habitat.
If you Google Pebble Mine, you'll find plenty of hits that are entirely focused on potential devastation to the environment.
Copper Fox in so much better of a position, by comparison, despite a smaller resource and lower grades of copper (although CUU is still more than respectable in both categories with the promise of much, much more).
