Today there were some announcements regarding the push for mining in BC. A six-part strategy was unveiled that included speeding up the environmental review process. They were discussing it on CBC radio as well. The Tahltan were apparently meeting with the Red Chris people today to try and come to some agreement. Big day in BC mining.

The mining strategy has six goals. The aim is to enhance B.C.’s competitive edge, streamline the regulatory process, ensure the health and safety of B.C.’s workers, protect the environment, build partnerships with First Nations and develop a highly skilled workforce.
