i appreciate Canada Grants earlier posting on Teck, its resulting strength with the fording coal acquisition.
Also of note with Teck (since their name appears so frequently in CUU posts); recently they are / have:
- committing significant dollars to expanding coal production at Hinton, Alberta
- investing in the Alberta oil sands
- continuing to do exploration drilling at the Galore property. Teck is working to increase the measured resources at Galore. They do have the option to match or beat any Nova Gold suitor.
These are examples of Teck showing commitment to resource development and their future in Canada and with a down-turn in the economy.
Will this parlay into a commitment to CUU in a small or large way, I obviously don't know, but it does present some evidence of their understanding thes afer and more stable Canadian market / economy.
Even BHP Bilton and Rio Tinto, two of the largest mining companies in the world, and based out of Australia, are closely reviewing project funding in their own country due to mining taxes, etc.
glta.
