I'm also quietly hoping for this scenario, I have too many CUU shares in my non-registered account, transferring some of them over on Jan 2 to all available TFSA accounts and RRSP accounts would be an excellent tax reduction method, especially if you don't intend selling CUU until they are bought out/escalate to their true value.

The less I have to give the tax man the better, they haven't been waiting patiently for this long :)
