Both Prospekt and Chappy seem to be on the right track. This was realized to be a whole new mineralization trend/source. Presumably outside of the option agreement (even if it wasn't no diff). Elmer sank some drills and found that this wasn't related to SC. Therefore, why keep blowing money on more drills for a entirely new region that may take years to prove up.
This explanation jives well with what Elmer said in August: that drills are expensive, so why keep going? Teck may have given him the indication also that they are not interested in CUU drilling those for a few more years when they may not be in the option agreement(speculation only).
Sure CUU is an explorer. But we are only exploring to complete our end of the JV. All the extra drilling is just bonus work that may not be bought by Teck.
Thus better to spend money on the BFS and associated closing costs.
