Felix Chee has been saying this, i.e., China's interest in our resource base, for a few months now - look at the BNN archives. One possible reason that CIC may be moving at a seemingly snail pace is to first find out what will happen with the CNOOC-NEXEN deal. And lets not forget that there are political changes going on in China right now, the changing of the guard. Once these are sorted out China just may go on a shopping spree, who knows.
