Bio: Don Lindsay was appointed President of Teck in January 2005 and assumed the additional responsibility of Chief Executive Officer in April 2005. Before joining Teck, Don was President of CIBC World Markets and led the bank’s Investment and Corporate Banking Division as well as the Asia Pacific Region. Earlier in his career, he was responsible for CIBC’s Global Mining Group. Don has a B.Sc., (Hons.) Mining Engineering from Queen’s University and an M.B.A. from Harvard Business School.

Don is currently a Governor of the B.C. Children’s Hospital Foundation in Vancouver and is Chair of the Campaign for B.C. Children, a capital campaign to raise $200 million to build a new acute care hospital. He is also on the Board of Governors of the Royal Ontario Museum and recently joined the Board of Directors for the Vancouver Aquarium. As Chair of the International Zinc Association from 2007 to 2011, Don led the development and launch of the Zinc Saves Kids campaign, a program developed in partnership with UNICEF to address zinc deficiency, which claims the lives of about 450,000 children annually around the world. Under his leadership, Teck also launched a Zinc and Health program to raise awareness about zinc deficiency and help solve this global health issue.
