Message: Level 2

Exactly. 4 different orders to sell shares, with a total of 1500 shares available at $1.08 each.

On the bid side, there are 10 separate orders (could be 10 different people, or 1 person with 10 separate accounts - can't tell with level 2) for a total of 25,700 shares at a price of $1.07. That's what those people are willing to pay.

Now imagine what happens when those people decide all at once that they want to buy those 25,700 shares no matter what price (called buying at the market price). The 1500 shares at $1.08 would get purchased, then the 23,400 shares at $1.09 would get purchased, and if the order was big enough, the next bit of 'Asks' at $1.10 would get partially purchased to fill the 25,700 share order. Suddenly the stock price has jumped from $1.07 to $1.10 because of that order.

That's what we saw yesterday with a few large orders - price spiked quickly to $1.13 because of large orders placed quickly took out the Asks.

Now imagine a BFS that shows negative, 0, or even a very low (IE a few cents) cost per pound to produce copper, and a NR detailing a Teck buyout package worth a lot of money. Instantly people who are watching the stock will buy everything in sight - and the price will go through the $2 roof with ease.
