We would have had updates but the engineers are looking it over in every aspect because Teck intends to mine it. I wouldn't worry about when an offer will come. We could update the market and five preliminary numbers on various aspects excluding the economics if there was still room for improvements. We are not doing any of that. Call up some other geo ceo's and ask. It's that simple.
The process tells us what we need to know. If the engineers were not working on it we would have it already. We are well into the process. It's been going on since Teck downloaded the db. The only reason Teck engineers would engage the data in that detail is because Teck intends to mine it. Two weeks ago they would have been able to make that call. Perhaps even earlier but why not add two weeks to the time table just for good measure. We are that far into it. As someone said to me just the other day "if your that far in you're going all the way". I did call a few people who should know about such things and verified that we must be in that part of the process and was told that we actually must be nearly done. I asked if they thought we'd started negotiations and 2 of the 3 said we would not be negotiating. The numbers will dictate what we can get and Teck will make a fair offer. Once we get the offer then we will be negotiating. All 3 said we would probably not get an offer concurrent with the bfs but they all agree that we may never see the bfs for the same reason many here believe, Teck doesn't want competition.
So if we do get the bfs don't panic if an offer is not attached. It will come shortly on the heels of the bfs. It is true that Teck will have already discussed this with other majors. I've been told they regularly discuss upcoming projects amongst the majors that were in their areas of interest. I'm becoming much more certain this will be mined even if there are longer delays.
