Here is a very rich district a few hundred miles from a deep sea port that is less than 10 days sailing from china( Vancouver is 11 days When times are good, they slow ship cruise speed down when times are slower) the ore originates from a political stable country. The road from mine to port was designed for ore hauling. There is a 50+ yr supply and the country of origin is in the business of giving away their resources. The list goes on...
If we sold out for 10B, 25 yrs from now the Chinese would be laughing at the steal of a deal they got. Don't get me wrong the Chinese won't give you a dime more than they think they have too. but IMHO. I think if this went on the open market we'd see a Chinese JV and a +4B deal. Even the Japanese would line up.
There are so many fringe benefits to this project/region that will merit a premium! I understand how expectations have been beaten down and people just want a finish. But this is worth $10+ per share. The real issue is this mine and BFS and deal is setting a precidence and there are many eyes watching. It will be interesting to see who Teck picks up as JV stakeholders. Don't be supposed if its more than one. This trough is that big! IMHO
