Teck Tax Tips

Since Teck has loads of "extra" cash this year. Wouldn't it make sense to buyout CUU prior to the end of the year? Rack up some 'expenses' so that their tax bill would be lighter. They have already announced a dividend increase, and a $1.2B to $1.8B offer for CUU would be perfect to announce by Dec 31st. Then start spending on the CAPEX in 2013.

Any tax experts that would speculate otherwise?
