Welcome FC. I have always thought an offer from Teck would follow very soon after release of the BFS. Otherwise, any Teck interest in the remaining 25% would be at risk to the market and any outside interest, including anyone wanting control by taking out CUU early.
If that offer is not forthcoming today, the halt may be extended, although that, I believe, would be determined by the exchange.
Given the timing of the release, with trading activity subject to thin holiday trading volume, if either of these actions do not come to pass, CUU leaves themselves open to scrutiny if the share prices drops, only to be bought out at much higher levels.
But is this by design? Do those entities want to shake the tree one last time before a buy-out. Perhaps this was the plan all along? Time will tell.
Long and strong until buy-out.
