The pit has nothing to do with recoveries though. Back in 2008, they thought 71.3% of the molybdenum could be recovered from the ore into the concentrate. Now they think it's only 58.8%. To put it another way, 41.2% of the molybdenum gets lost in the recovery process, compared with 28.7% before.
