This says nothing negative or bad about our project. Effect on SP? The markets don't follow our stock closely anyway.
Yes it does...you said it yourself. "Teck walking away could very well signal that they have priorities to invest in the immediate timeframe" So what would people do who own shares? Sell because they have different priorities - that is the immediate timeframe. Given that the people holding now are still holding because we expect something "soon" - knowing that soon might be quite some time in these markets to sell to another suitor - well, short term supply and demand of shares is what will set the share price. And the supply of shares will be rather large. The intrinsic value might go up - but even if you still wanted to invest in CUU, you could do so at a later date and a cheaper price.
It's also negative because they weren't able to just buy out our 25% and wait till later to develop it. They also couldn't arrange a JV wherein they don't have to build it right away. They couldn't do anything to get 3/4 of a billion dollar plus mine for pennies on the dollar. They weren't even able to find someone else to buy the 25% and they keep 75% themselves. If they're not willing to pay that much when getting so much for cheap already - chances that others will in this market aren't great - not until it picks up again. Teck might not want to buy us out, but they could find someone who wants 25% and have them buy it out from CUU while they retain 75%...Walking away entirely means they were unable to do this and the wait will be long.
Overall the value might have gone up - but the timeframe would also DRAMATICALLY go up.
