CUU own 25% Schaft Creek: proven/probable min. reserves/940.8m tonnes = 0.27% copper, 0.19 g/t gold, 0.018% moly and 1.72 g/t silver containing: 5.6b lbs copper, 5.8m ounces gold, 363.5m lbs moly and 51.7m ounces silver; (Recoverable CuEq 0.46%)
I have a hard time understanding how anyone puts a 'deadline' on a two (maybe 3) party negotiation for a multibillion dollar project. A mutual agreement could come fast or it could take a long time. One party to the negotiations can't say where or when the other party will meet its terms and vis versa.
From Sharp's report, it sounds like a lot of different scenarios and angles are being sounded out in methodical discussions. I wish it could happen faster but I don't want a rushed deal that leaves anything on the table either.
How we could still be working on a drilling plan after 6 complete months of having the fully completed FS seems a bit suspicious. There are only so many targets and so many recommendations in the FS and related geology and only 3 or 4 drills at most can run at any one time (given current camp space). There only so many decisions possible in those confines. How complicated could that be?
I do have a bit of a hard time with the Az properties still. Yes there could be a source, but from the prior drilling at Sombrero, that source is likely 1000m deep. We'd need some fantastic grades (average 1% Cueq +) to make that economical to access and mine. I also have reservations about the size of the SB claim. Does it capture all of the geology we are after? I have reservations about the water supply too till I see the evidence and the access rights for that water.
I dont' see the Az properties offering us any value for a year or more - if that value is there. We'd probably need a Titan survey and maybe an Aerial Magnetic survey before we start drilling, the few months wait for those results, and then a few months to wait on drill results. That series of steps could easily take a year at the pace we are going.
Apparently CUU completed some surface exploration work in Az early this spring. Where is the info from that work??
Progress on the EA was noticably absent from the latest MD&A so it is good to hear Elmer being postive about that work. I'm not holding my breath though. We've been at the EA wheel for a good 5-6 years and still had a new item (FN issues with mining traffic thru communities) parachuted in a few months ago and only recently completed a moose survey this spring. Still some room for surprises and delays there.
Fantastic report Sharp622. Much appreciated.
