Cockfiled is OK if you like large Canadian non-resource stocks. His views on current metal prices and miners (juniors and the big boys) in general are shared by a large number of Canadian fund managers like him. Then you listen to fund managers like Sprott and you get the opposing view point. One thing they all seem to agree on is that the stock market moves in cycles. It took only 2 months for TECK to drop from the current levels in 2008 to the $3 bottom, could it happen again? The last drop was also fueled by the Fording purchase so things are not the same.
I am very happy that we now have a JV with TECK, and I am of the opinion that we have just passed the "Orphan Period" stage in the graph below.
