Barrick wrote down their assets today and used the following price assumptions to calculate the amount of the impairment:

Gold $1300 an ounce

Silver $23 an ounce

Copper $3.25 per pound

Our feasibility used the following price assumptions:

gold $1445

silver $27.74

copper $3.25

The comment from Barrick: “We are confident our assets will generate substantially more economic benefits over time for our shareholders than these current valuation levels imply,” Barrick said in its earnings statement today.
