So are you saying that countries lie about how much gold they have and its slowly been slipping away? The buying is a different kind of demand, it doesnt deplete the inventories the same way as using the metal. Golds value is created from it's use as a currency and the continual devauling of fiat currency, not for it's usefulness as a metal.
