If..and I dont really doupt it...Elmer said that you wont believe the numbers,......its very serious.

Could it be that he really.. thought it was true?

If he said that, having no idea about the numbers,it was irresponsible.

If he said it ,thinking the numbers would be incredible,he was sincere.

If he said it ,having looked at the preliminary mumbers which were dissapointing ,it was not sincere.

I cant make up my mind with certainty which of the three alternatives is valid.

But I dont really like it at all as this particular phrase is greatly responsible that I ended up here,in the same situation with you.
