Teck will hold a conference call this week. It could be an opportunity to ask a question regarding Schaft Creek. Last time there was a caller that got through and asked about CUU/Schaft Creek.
Look for forward looking comments regarding future Acquisitions or Sales, the Base/Precious Metals market in 2014-2015, and also what Teck is Planning for QB2. During the last call they said they would be making a decision by Mid-Summer. It looks like they will continue to delay this project which is very good news for Schaft Creek advancement. If there is a more definite statement regarding their freezing of activity there, then even better.
I'd also keep an ear on Relincho, to see if more cash is being spent there. Analysts have been very curious about when Teck might make moves on that project. Currently, it's feasibility study completion has been delayed till Q4 2013 (its been delayed since 2011).
Key point: Other projects are being delayed, and cost cutting has been a major priority yet Teck is spending $15M on the SC Project?
