The numbers are from our current FS, and it shows we have a slightly better project than the Fort Hills one based on those numbers. However, Fort Hills is set for 50 years of a product that is not as prone to financial disasters in China, US etc. Teck is on the record as saying that they want something that is not sold through the LME.
We should have a significant upside if we can get all (or a significant portion) of the 171Mt waste moved into a better category, and if we can improve the metal recoveries and if we can extend the mine life. All of these seem like attainable goals.
Teck knew this was coming at Fort Hills, and they have been shaving costs at a high rate in anticipation. They also put other projects on hold, but they did back in to SC and commit to the drill program this year.
