it used to be. The british pound pegged it self to Gold before the American propaganda came in affect. USA was booming thanks to europe and japan being levelled after world war 2. USA sold its currency as the new safe haven. But with how much debt the USA is building the USA currency might collapse and Gold will be the safe haven once more permenately... I wouldnt be surprised if China is spending all that American Cash on tangible assets.
