Speaking of Las Bambas...
Now there is talk that Glencore might end up keeping the mine. They were required to sell a mine, and if a buyer were willing to pay higher than an established valuation they would have to sell. If Minmetals tried to pay less, then Glencore could choose not to sell and move on to another of their projects instead.
Apparently they are 70%-60% likely to sell at this point in time.
The reason they are thinking of keeping the mine is because Glencore now believes that copper prices will rise over the next couple of years, and copper supply will be pressing by 2016 again.
So, this bodes well for our project as well. Teck has to know that they are facing another cycle of gains in the not too distant future and they are only going to make money if they get SC into production.
