But I think your description of what has happened as a "fiasco" is a bit strong. A fiasco would have been if Teck had taken a look and walked away. The story isn't over yet.

Oh, there are other definitions of fiasco that could still play out here, WN. If, for some inexplicable reason, Ernesto decides to sell Schaft Creek for anything less than $2 a share, that would qualify as a fiasco, IMO. I don't want to speculate how low that number could go, but many excellent deposits around the globe have sold for a fraction of their all-time high share price over the past few years.

The fact that we're still hanging around may be a reflection of EE insisting on attaining his price. If so, I hope he doesn't change his mind, even if it does take years.
