I just re-read it. You mean that environmental group will never endorse the project? I don't think their opinion matters too much. I thought they were an American group?
The local First Nation's at one point suggested putting the road through "the wildlife habitat in the spectacular Mount Edziza Provincial Park" instead of Mess Creek. I think their opinion is more important to gaining the approval of this project.
KSM had to move their proposed tailings area 23 km away and build a tunnel in order to appease their environmental critics. Can you imagine the extra costs involved in that? This hasn't been priced out yet as far as I'm aware. Galore Creek got environmental approval but they didn't have their tailings costs factored in and when they did the project was shut down and put on care and maintenance.
