Thanks NotSoQuick. My take: in calling this an accident, Mr. Todoruk lets both company and government off lightly. There are accidents which are unforeseen events, impossible to predict, and accidents which could and should have been avoided. Todoruk uses the analogy of air travel. I’m sure most forum members, if not all, have flown as passengers. I’m equally sure that for most members the decision to fly an airline is based as much on its safety record as the fare, given that we all accept that maintenance schedules and aircrew hiring practices are based on statistics which don’t provide one hundred per cent certainty of safely arriving at one’s destination.

CG might have some interesting insights to share here! ;-)
