CUU own 25% Schaft Creek: proven/probable min. reserves/940.8m tonnes = 0.27% copper, 0.19 g/t gold, 0.018% moly and 1.72 g/t silver containing: 5.6b lbs copper, 5.8m ounces gold, 363.5m lbs moly and 51.7m ounces silver; (Recoverable CuEq 0.46%)
I don't know....last time I spoke with Cathy she said she expected the production decision before the buyout. That surprised me too.
Prospekt, I doubt Teck would reveal their intentions of what they would do first. This is probably her opinion or guess of what Teck would do. My feeling, like many here, is if SC proves to be of great value after all optimization studies are done then Teck would make an outright offer for our 25% that satisfies EE. By now I think Teck knows what the target price would have to be to satisfy EE.
Since Teck got 75% of SC for a dime, they are in a great position to buyout the rest for a fair offer or even at a premium to fair. Teck can then turn around and then sell 50% to a partner of their chosing and come out ahead in the deal with them not even obligated to finance the whole mine. This is the win/win scenario for both Teck and CUU.
