Another copper property takeover

Taseko buys out Curis Resources in an all-stock deal. Curis's Florence property is in Arizona, with an estimated resource of about 3 billion pounds of copper at a cutoff rate of just 0.05%, but the recovery rate of 69.7% drops that to about 2 billion pounds.

That makes the value close to 4 cents per pound.

Curis debuted on the Venture in early 2011 at more than $3.50 per share. Since the news of the buyout on Monday, Curis stock has climbed four cents to 94 cents.

The company's board put together a special committee to consider and that committee received a fairness report from Paradigm Capital. Based on the results, the board unanimously recommends that company shareholders vote in favour of the proposed transaction.
