I havent followed the VD stuff that closely, but I swear I remember reading something about 25 more holes - and after that a PEA.
I don't think they can just decide to conserve cash and not bother drilling if it is necessary, they must have the information that they need. They're doing the RE first, to be followed, quickly I hope, by the PEA.
This is what they said on an earlier NR. It seems they have enough field work data.:
The objective of the 2014 program for the Van Dyke oxide copper deposit is to complete the work necessary to determine if the data supports the preparation of a Preliminary Economic Assessment ('PEA') Technical Report. In order to complete a PEA; verification drilling; metallurgical test work, environmental baseline and surface water hydrology studies, fluid mechanics, geochemical characterization of the lithologies surrounding the deposit and scoping level engineering studies have to be completed.
